Wolfsburg: die Autostadt (29 Apr. 2013)

On 29 Apr. 2013, it was a car city day! When you take off the train at Wolfsburg, you'll see the factory just in front of you. It's telling you that you're in Wolfsburg, die Autostadt.
As the name said, it's a city of cars. Here, you can spend all day long in the museum because the museum is... almost the entire city I think! Although it might be too overstated but the museum is really big!!!
The best part of the museum is that there were a lot of interactions much much more than other car museums, and they have more exhibition cars that you can touch and sit into it. Oh! I really like the buildings here, and you can see the views here were just like the 2010 International Flora Expo in Taipei.

die Autostadt

You'll see the factory which has four chimneys when you're at Wolfsburg Hbf.

the museum and the factory was located next to the river

these three cars looks small in the picture, but in fact they're chairs!!

First stop, I went into the 布拉布拉布拉.

She was making a car model by a kind of clay.

You can make your own model car on the computer beside, and it's mine.

You can combine the separate parts of car yourself.

I was the only one in the movie theater...XDDDD

the green house - reducing the emission of CO2.

You can count the emission of CO2 on your own.

There's a FahrSchule, which means the driving school, but it's for the kids just like you see...XDD

inside the museum, it's like a small ecologic park

Welcome to Prosche Pavilion. It was really small, only three real cars inside......

If you want to see more details about Porsche, go to Porsche Museum in Stuttgart , see  here.

Then, I went into Customer Center, and you can see and take a seat for most of the VW cars on sale now there. And if you want to buy a car, you can just ask the staffs there and they'll lead you to another room to conduct the formality.

sun roof is really big!!

Suddenly, I started to like the car of this kind, it's so functional!!

The seatbelt on the rear seat was so cool!!

There were many kinds of material and colors for the cars inside and outside.
You can take the introduction books of the cars you like.

It was almost 12 p.m., time to go to visit the factory English tour guide. If you want to join the factory tour, you have to reserve it and then take on the boat at the specific time.

the boat I took

Actually, taking the photo was prohibited inside the factory, so......Ummmmmm...

You'll take the tram when you take off the boat, and then the factory tour will be started!!
Inside the factory, you'll see some procedures of making the cars, assemble the wheels, the engines,...etc. something like that. The guider told us that it's impossible to take us to visit the whole factory because you'll travel for more than 20 km in total!!!!

the tram you'll take

assemble the wheels

assemble the windows

assemble the engines

the power plant for the whole VW factory on thier own!!!!

after finishing making a car, it will be send to the museum area by this escalator!!!!!
Back to the museum area, I went to Zeithaus, where a place exhibit the old cars in sequence by the time.

Zeithaus

the first car made by Mercedes, just like I saw in Mercedes-Benz Museum, see Benz in detail please see here.

At fisrt, I didn't know why there's a thermometer at the front, but I realized that the engine was mobilized by the steam, so you have to know the temperature of the steam!!!

the view from Zeithaus

The rear seats were so...... small...= =|||

some racing drivers in history

The tail of the car was interesting.

This beetles was so luxurious but elegant!!!!

Mini Austin

The engine was assembled on the rear side.

Next, I went to Premium Clubhouse. There's only one car in it, and it was incredibly cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Premium Clubhouse

The decoration inside was a fuzzy mirror and it makes a very different visual effect!!!

Outside the Premium Clubhouse, there are some seats like this for you to take a rest. It was a little bit cold outside actually...

Next, the Lamborghini Pavilion. Also only one car inside.............. and it will have a short show. But in fact, it was quite boring......= =|||

Lamborghini Pavilion

It was placed on the wall.

Soon, the next stop, Škoda Pavillion.

Next, SEAT Pavilion. At first, I thought SEAT was just a noun which means you can take a "seat", but in fact, it's a car company's name...XDDDD
After visiting here, I started to like SEAT car.

SEAT Pavilion

Do you know what are these on the wall?

These are rear-view mirrors!!

In here the VW museum, you can also see a small Audi museum. The exhibition inside is rich actually I think.
Oh! The design inside is really modern and I really like it!!

Porsche Pavilion

Getting in the Audi pavilion, you'll get a light ball like this.
You can use this ball to activate the explination of computers!!!!

Did you see the letter U up and down? The down one is a touchpad actually, and you can write the letter down on the circle touchpad and search the thing you want!!!

there were ducks in the park...

Next stop, VW pavilion, a very simple structure outside.

VW Pavilion

I was wondering what's the screen for, so I asked the staff. Oh!!!!!! You know what? It's the rear-view mirror!!!!!!!
It's the cemara of the rearview mirror!!!! So cool!!!!!!

You can sit here, turn the chair on the right side, and...

you can watch a short movie!!

60s

70s

I don't know what "Think Blue" means actually...

You can play the swing and took a photo of you.

the one I took

TurmFahrt, a large elevator for the new cars.
Here you can watch the cars just bought by some customers and the customers can take their car here.

TurmFahrt

In the end, I went to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Pavilion.
The cars inside were all very functional and I like the one which has a vent on the roof of the car!!!!

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Pavilion

you can sleep unstairs

Or upstairs!!!

The car is very powerful!!!!

On the way back to railway station, I found that on the other side of the river, there's an outlet mall which is really big!!!!!!!

on the way back

the shopping mall!!

Bye~ Autostadt!

So......here's my advice: if you want to come to Wolfsburg, just find a hotel here because you'll spend a whole day here for the museums and the outlet mall, and that's what I'm going to do next time.
